Last night, in Nashville, the Predators secured a 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders after a late game-winning goal.

Predators Clinch Late Game-Winning Goal Against Islanders

The Predators scored the decisive goal with just seven seconds left in the third period.
During the next shift, the Islanders' goalie was on the bench, at the expense of a sixth skater. With less than a second on the clock, the Predators capitalized by scoring in an empty net.

Islanders Draw Criticism for Leaving Game Prematurely

Following the second goal, with only 0.5 seconds left on the game clock, all Islanders players had already left the bench for the locker room, except for Bo Horvat and those still on the ice.
"After allowing the game-winning goal in the dying seconds, aside from the 5 guys on the ice and the goalie the #Isles all went to the room before the final horn???

MEGA YIKES"
"You wanna talk about culture and what it means to be an Islander look at Bo Horvat here. All the other country club cowards that wear the crest f*** off to the room but this guy sits here and watches until the horn blows. #isles"
Even with less than a second remaining, players should have stayed on the bench for their fans, teammates, and opponents.
Losing in such a manner is undoubtedly tough for players, but it doesn't give them the right to be disrespectful and unsportsmanlike.
