The Hurricanes would take a 1-0 series lead defeating the Devils 5-1, but what many are talking about was a sign a Hurricanes fan made regarding Jack Hughes Mother Ellen Hughes.

A fan photo shopped Sebastian Aho with Jack Hughes and put it behind the bench with it saying:

It's meant to get to the players but it's definitely inappropriate especially for Jack who's very close to his mother. We don't know if this sign will come back to bite the Hurricanes but if I was a betting man, I bet Hughes will do everything he can just to win the series just to stick it to the fan.
