The NHL trade deadline has come and gone and with some very big moves made by various teams. However over the last few days we have been hearing rumours of trades that didn't happen for whatever reason, but some were very interesting.
We have now learned from Sportsnet hockey insider Elliotte Friedman of a deal that involved Arizona Coyotes Phil Kessel. The team that was trying to acquire Kessel, was the Nashville Predators. Friedman shared this on the 32 thoughts podcast with Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman,
"the Nashville Predators was one of the teams very interested in Phil Kessel."
This could have been huge for the Predators adding a player like Phil the Thrill in a city like Nashville. It's unclear what the Coyotes wanted in return for Kessel or what the Predators offered but this would of been a pretty cool trade to see.
Maybe this trade could possibly still happen this off season.
