The Vegas Golden Knight have already battled the injury bug for the better part of the season. The Knight's currently sit second in the league in man games lost behind only the Montreal Canadiens. It had seemed the Knight's had started to turn the corner until Thursday when they announced Max Pacioretty had undergone successful wrist surgery.
The news came as a surprise to some as Patches had played 17:24 on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Kings. Before the game though he was listed as a game time decision, before taking part in warmup and eventually electing to play.
The 33 year old is having one of the best seasons of his career statistically with 12 goals and 9 assists in only 16 games. With Pacioretty expected to miss time the Knights will hope the impending arrival of Jack Eichel isn't far off.
The Knights are currently 1st place in the Western Conference with a record of 21-12-0 and they also lead the league in goals for with 120.
Pacioretty has already missed over half of the Golden Knights' games this season along with Team Captain Mark Stone missing 14. If Vegas can get healthy at the right time they can be a very dangerous matchup for any team in the playoffs.
The Golden Knights will be back in action Friday against the Anaheim Ducks.
