After being traded to the Blackhawks in the offseason, Fleury contemplated retirement, but later chose to honour his contract and head to the windy city to try and take a run at the playoffs. Unfortunately things have not turned out for team and Fleury is now on the trading block looking for a contender.
We know he has already rejected a trade to the Capitals due to his time in Pittsburgh and doesn't want to be on the other side of that rivalry as many players already have been.
But we have just learned that he may have rejected a trade to a Canadian team. This is a quote from hockeyfeed.com :
Fleury wants to win a cup, and him considering the team with quite possibly the first and second best players in the league not a true contender, I believe speaks a lot for the Oilers, who many consider only to be missing a true #1 goaltender to be true Stanley Cup threats.
Marc Andre Fleury just named #NHL second star of the week, begins work on this weeks #1 star. What a save pic.twitter.com/89VPgmvU57— Bob Pompeani (@KDPomp) January 18, 2022
