Evander Kane In More Legal Trouble Following Major Accusations
Evander Kane has been in legal trouble over the past few years but new allegations from a concerning source could put Kane's case in jeopardy.
Marleau's New Accusations
San Jose Sharks legend Patrick Marleau used to play with Evander Kane while Kane was in San Jose and some concerning accusations from Marleau's wife, Christina Marleau, have emerged. Mrs. Marleau recounts a story of Kane taking a substance with a teammate and the fallout being scary.
"My husband had heard that during the Covid pause on the season, father [Kane] had invited a teammate and his girlfriend over to their home. The information we had heard was that both father and the teammate had taken some sort of substance, which resulted in the teammate running out of the house and missing for multiple hours throughout the night."
With Kane behaving this way around younger players, it is obvious that there is a lot to be desired with his off-ice behavior. Mrs. Marleau paints a clear picture that Sharks management was disappointed in how Kane carried himself around younger players.
Kane Utilzing Rookies To Babysit
It is not uncommon for veterans to have younger players look after their kids. John Tavares recently had rookies Matthew Knies and Fraser Minten watch after his kids while the two were staying with Tavares.
However, Kane utilized an at the time 20-year-old Ryan Merkley as a babysitter. Given Mrs. Marleau's tone, it seems like this was more of something Kane did without the consultation of his now ex-wife.
"We also became aware of a young Sharks player, Ryan Merkley, was babysitting Kensington during at least one night in December of
2021. Although we have heard from other hockey families that this was not just a one time event. I believe Mr. Merkley is 20 years old."

This is also babysitting for the night which implies Kane was out doing something else when he was supposed to be watching his son.
Only time will tell what happens as a result of these hearings but one thing that Kane is facing is losing any relationship with his child.
