Timmins Takes Tanev Hard Into The Board: Chaos Unleashes Between The Maple Leafs And The Kraken
Last night as Seattle Kraken forward Brandon Tanev was trying to retrieve a puck in the offensive zone, he took a nasty cross-check from Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Conor Timmins which forced him to lose his footing. After crashing into the boards and thankfully being all right, Tanev popped up and went right after Timmins where everybody got involved.
As a result of the play, Timmins got two minutes for cross-checking while Simon Beniot and Tanev both received matching roughing penalties.
Maple Leafs Defeat The Kraken During Tight Game
With the scrum between Tanev and Timmins happening early into the first, a precedent was set. Tanev followed this up by dropping the mitts with Jake McCabe sending both to the box for five minutes.
However, the Maple Leafs were able to get by Tanev's antics on the back of Auston Matthews' 38th goal of the season and a slick goal by Nick Robertson.
