The Ottawa Senators prevailed 5-1 in the Sabres' most recent game, which took place on December 31, 2023. Regretfully, the Sabres suffered more than just a defeat in this contest.
Injury to Okposo will keep him out for a while
According to the Reporter for the Buffalo News, Lance Lysowski:
Kyle Okposo suffered the injury during the game in Ottawa and didn't miss a shift.
Okposo "gutted it out," according to Granato, but it became apparent that he was going to have to miss time.
Okposo continued to play the entire game despite the score and obviously his discomfort or it would have been reported more during the game. The injury probably became worse since he finished the game. Okposo will be absent for a few weeks now as a result.
The Sabres informed reporters after practice that Kyle Okposo is week to week with a lower body injury.
The Buffalo Sabres account confirmed the news that Kyle Okposo will miss multiple weeks due to a lower-body injury.
The captain's season so far has been quite good
Like the previous seasons, Okposo, the captain of the Sabres, has primarily played as an important role on Buffalo's third or fourth line. He is the leader for the club, plays the second powerplay, and is one of the best checking forwards.
He is averaging 13:58 minutes of ice time per game this season and has 14 points in 38 games, eight of those being goals.
