It appears that the era of Darcy Kuemper may have come to an end in Colorado as the Avalanche have officially made a moev to acquire Alexander Georgiev from the New York Rangers. The Rangers made the announcement of the trade on their official twitter account this afternoon.
OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired a third-round and fifth-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft, as well as a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, from Colorado in exchange for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev.
The deal marks the end of Georgiev's time in New York, and likely marks a new beginning in Colorado.
