Future hall of famer, Patrice Bergeron just won his record setting fifth Frank J Selke Trophy, which is awarded annually to the National Hockey League forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game.
Bergeron just had elbow surgery and at the age of 36, turning 37 this year, the current unrestricted free-agent was contemplating his future, which was either another year with the Bruins or retirement.
Well, good news for Bruins fans is it looks like he made that decision.
The Bruins depth at center is very thin with just
Erik Haula and
Charlie Coyle behind him, which whom are not first line centers. If Bergeron did not return next season, the Bruins were really going to struggle down the middle.
But luckily for the Bruins it looks like Bergeron is coming back for one more season.
According to Capfriendly.com the Bruins only have $2,383,333 in cap space, so this team is probably going to be very team friendly for Bergeron.
