We are a few days past the trade deadline which saw quite a few players get moved this season. Some blockbuster moves that saw some big names like Patrick Kane, Vladimir Tarasenko, Ryan O'Reilly and many more moved.
On February 27th, the Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs made a trade where Jake McCabe and Sam Lafferty were sent to Toronto in exchange for Joey Anderson, Pavel Gogolev (who was playing with the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL), and a conditional 2025 1st round pick and 2026 2nd round pick.
After the trade, Gogolev played 2 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL and scored 1 goal. However, the Blackhawks recently announced that Gogolev had been placed on unconditional waivers for contract termination, surprising many.
It is expected that he will return to Russia if he clears waivers.
