One of the Washington Capitals' core forwards has officially requested a trade out of Washington.
Kuznetsov Asks For Out
Capitals GM Brian MacLellan has made a statement regarding the team's plans for this offseason and top long-time forward Evgeny Kuznetsov's name has been used actively. Kuznetsov has asked for a trade elsewhere since last season, but the team has not yet been able to complete a deal. MacLellan wanst to focus on making that move as soon as he can to be able to address the rest of the roster's needs.
«I think our strategy going into the draft time period was to make a trade,» MacLllean said. «To identify the age group we're kind of targeting and try to make a trade to bring in a top six forward, to trade one or two guys, or whatever. We were open to possibilities.
As the Capitals are faced with a quickly aging roster and a player that wants out, moves need to be made fast and MacLellan has voiced that he is planning on doing just that.
