The 2025 NHL Draft isn't one loaded with talent, but there are some intriguing names, and now, the next Tom Wilson could be a top-five pick in this intriguing class.

In recent years, the NHL Draft has had a clear top prospect with Connor Bedard and Macklin Celebrini, but this year it's wide open, with James Hagens and Matthew Schaefer both options for the New York Islanders at the No. 1 overall pick.
Beyond that, there's not many sure things, with Michael Misa, Caleb Desnoyers and others considered intriguing, with any pick this season carrying significant risk, but potentially great upside.
One name that seems to be drawing plenty of interest is Brady Martin of the Soo Greyhounds, and when he was asked about his player comparison at the NHL, he made a statement that plenty of GM's around the league would absolutely love.
In his answer, Martin compared himself to the likes of Tom Wilson, Matthew Knies and Sam Bennett, and while he's just 6 feet tall, his aggressive play style and production in the OHL have some very excited for his future.
In his two seasons with the Greyhounds, Martin has tallied 43 goals and 100 points, with his 2024/25 campaign seeing him put up a fantastic 72 points, and now, that's got some in the top five keeping a close eye on him.
According to hockey insider Cam Robinson, it's the Utah Mammoth that are paying incredibly close attention to Martin, with the belief at the scouting combine being that they would be the team to reach and try to land the two-way force.
With Schaefer, Hagens, Misa, Desnoyers, Jake O'Brien and others all drawing attention at the top of the draft beyond Martin, it may not be as loaded as recent years, but there's many intriguing prospects, and if teams can find the right fit for their organization, this could be a home run event for many franchises.
