Flyers offer up insane package to trade into the top five of the 2024 NHL draft
It has just been reported by Pierre LeBrun that the Philadelphia Flyers have offered up a massive package to the Columbus Blue Jackets for 4th overall in tomorrow's draft.
Tomorrow is one of the busiest days for NHL teams around the league. Every front office will be congregating in Las Vegas and many moves will be going down. Philadelphia Flyers GM Daniel Briere has reportedly offered a massive package to the Columbus Blue Jackets for the 4th overall pick tomorrow.
Pierre LeBrun says the #LetsGoFlyers made an aggressive pitch to the #CBJ involving 12th overall this year, a first-round pick next year, and a roster player for 4th overall in this year's draft.
Per TSN, it is believed that the Philadelphia Flyers made an aggressive pitch to the Columbus Blue Jackets. #CBJ reportedly said no.
To Flyers: 4th overall pick.
To #CBJ: 12th overall pick, a roster player, 2025 first rounder.
Of note: the Flyers have two firsts in 2025.
While the player is unknown, there are a few possibilities on who it could be. The Flyers owning both their own first-round pick and Colorado's first-round pick also means that they could have offered the later Colorado pick.
If they were to make this trade, they would likely be targeting a top talent, possibly Ivan Demidov who was teammates with their 2023 first-round pick Matvei Michkov.
Briere now has about a day to make something work if the Flyers want to trade for fourth overall.
