The Vancouver Canucks moved J.T. Miller earlier this season, and now the veteran has opened up on the trade and his time as a member of the Canucks.

J.T. Miller's 2024/25 campaign started with nothing but drama in Vancouver, and by the time the calendar shifted to 2025, it was clear that he needed a fresh start, something that the Canucks gave him by moving him to his former team, the New York Rangers.
This came just months after Miller stated he loved the city of Vancouver and didn't want to play anywhere else, but unfortunately that simply didn't happen, as the perceived feud between he and Elias Pettersson became a little too much to deal with.
Now, months after the deal, Miller has reflected on the trade and his time in Vancouver, and unsurprisingly, he kept it very classy, noting that the deal was ultimately the best thing for his career.
I don't want to get into too much detail, but I think a fresh start was needed. I've got nothing bad to say about the Canucks or Vancouver as a city. We loved it there. It felt like home and that's all you can ask for.

But, unfortunately, this is a business and in the business end of things, it was getting difficult.

This all but confirms that the media pressure and the situation involving Pettersson became overwhelming for Miller and EP40, and in the end, the best thing to do for both parties was move on and give the veteran a fresh start.
In the end, Miller was still a beloved member of this team by the locker room and the fan base, but the feud was too much for everyone to handle, so while there's no hard feelings from Miller, he's clearly in a better situation for him right now as he looks to chase an elusive Stanley Cup.
