Reid Dyke was one of the top goalie prospects in the 2022 draft. He was picked up 183rd overall by the Boston Bruins. At 6'4" and only 20 years young, Dyck had a phenomenal season with the Swift Current Broncos. Curiously, however, he and the Bruins never could seem to get a deal signed. This is somewhat surprising, given that the Bruins traded 2023 Vezina winner
Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators over the summer, and their third-string goalie,
Brandon Bussi, is still mostly untested. That being said, letting go of such a promising goalie prospect seems bold, especially with
Jeremy Swayman's contract extension still up in the air, and with how the latest reports have stated that the club and Swayman are a massive $2 million apart in talks.
