The episode was centered around their first-round matchup a season ago, and as we all know, that didn't go too well for the Maple Leafs, who continue to fall short in the post-season whenever they're matched up against Boston. That topic came up between the two players during a conversation, when Nylander shared this take on the rivalry;
«Yeah, that's because you always beat us. Every time we've lost, it has been so [awful]»
The episode showed us many insights into the behind-the-scenes of an intense Stanley Cup Playoffs rivalry and gave a great look at the intensity shown by everyone involved, including Nylander. This episode also gave us the full comments made by No. 88 on the bench that drew so much attention during the series, showing that he's just as motivated and hungry as anyone to end the Maple Leafs' 57-year Stanley Cup drought.
Ultimately, they would come up short in gut-wrenching fashion in Game 7, and the heartbreak would continue for not only the players but the fans as well, and after Nylander's comments, it's safe to say that he and the team will all be motivated to finally get over the hump in 2024/25.
