Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Matt Murray participated in his first full practice with the team this morning. Meanwhile, Ilya Samsonov also is set to return as Sheldon Keefe confirmed he will start tomorrow against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Leafs should consider themselves lucky that Samsonov's latest injury wasn't more serious. Even with Murray getting close to a return, the team certainly wouldn't want to go into the playoffs with some combination of Jones, Woll, and Murray in net. That being said, it is not known exactly how long it will be before Murray can return to game action. However, he was a full participant in the team's practice this morning for the first time this season.

Last Week, Sheldon Keefe gave an encouraging update on Murray, hinting that he could return before the end of the season. However, due to the team's complicated cap situation, he will likely remain sidelined, perhaps on an AHL conditioning stint, to close out the regular season. The veteran netminder could very well be an option in the playoffs, but with three proven NHL goalies already on the roster, it is not clear where he would slot into the depth chart.
