With Morgan Rielly's upcoming suspension soon to be announced, Ryan Reaves has shared his thoughts on the incident and whether he thought the crosscheck was justified.

Reaves Shares His Opinion on Rielly's Response to the Empty Net Slapshot

The Leafs versus Senators game on Saturday night had a hot ending, igniting the battle of Ontario rivalry that had been gone for some time. If you somehow missed it, Morgan Rielly cross-checked Ridly Greig for taking a slapshot into the Leafs' empty net at the end of the game.
Now, Ryan Reaves has shared his opinion on the incident, indicating that he thinks Greig deserved the crosscheck for what he did.
Ryan Reaves, on the Ridly Greig empty-net slapshot: "If you rewind to when I came into the league he's probably still laying on the ice. I thought (Morgan Rielly's response) was appropriate. I don't see how a kid that young thinks it's appropriate to do something like that."
We are still waiting for the punishment to come in from the Department of Player Safety, but it is clear from Reaves' response that the Leafs are backing their guy and think he had every right to respond the way he did.
