Recent rumors have linked Leafs forward Mitch Marner and the Nashville Predators as his new team, but Preds GM Barry Trotz has shut it down.
Trotz believes that all this Marner trade chatter started when people were just trying to connect the dots and has quickly shut the idea down that the Preds would be acquiring the Leafs superstar forward.

It's important to note that just because Trotz shut down the Marner rumors, that doesn't mean he hasn't been active this summer so far. Trotz has confirmed that in addition to some key free-agent signings, he made a few days ago, the Predators have also been in trade discussions regarding some other big-name players around the league.

Leafs fans can get comfort knowing that the Predators are no longer on Marner watch, but it's no secret that there has been unusually high trade chatter surrounding Marner this off-season, and that is definitely concerning for Leafs nation.
