While Marner certainly has the talent to put up plenty of points, he has thus far not passed 100 in a single season in his career, and after
Nikita Kucherov,
Nathan MacKinnon, and
Connor McDavid all put up over 130 a season ago, it's hard to see him getting that done. However, if there's any circumstance under which No. 16 could get it done, it's this season as he faces a contract year that could see him hit the open market or force his way back into Toronto, and if he were to win the Art Ross Trophy, it would go a long way to proving his value as a superstar in the NHL.
