Mitch Marner enlists the help of 2 NHL superstars to help prepare him for his contract year in 2024-25

A new report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has been training this summer with 2 NHL superstars.
The NHL offseason is always an interesting time to see how different players attack their training. In years past Mitch Marner's training had mostly stayed private. This summer a new report has confirmed that Mitch Marner has been training with Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon.
The likes of Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon," revealed Friedman. "At a previous Biosteel camp he played with MacKinnon in camp... I've heard he's looked dynamite with Crosby and MacKinnon at this camp.
The Biosteel camp in the past has been the home to many of the biggest NHL stars for their offseason training. With Mitch Marner heading into his final season of his contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs there is believed to be extra motivation behind Mitch Marner's decisions this offseason.
Mitch Marner hoping to force the Toronto Maple Leafs hand this season
This upcoming season Mitch Marner is betting on himself to produce. In the final year of his contract, he is hoping to do what his teammate William Nylander did last season and come out on fire proving the Maple Leafs wrong.
I understand he has taken this summer extremely seriously, said Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast. He knows this is all hovering around him and he has been determined to have the best possible summer that he can to be ready.
This would then force GM Brad Treliving to pay Mitch Marner or risk outrage from fans and the media.
I think deep down that's what Marner wants to happen to, said Friedman.
Last season Mitch Marner was electric in the regular season putting up 85 points in just 69 games. In the playoffs, he struggled to produce and has been put under the spotlight for that. However, if he can get off to a fast start to the 2024-25 NHL season he could put major pressure on the Maple Leafs and Brad Treliving to get him locked up.
