Former Leafs defenseman had some choice words for coach Craig Berube
Former Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn had some choice words when asked about new head coach of the Leafs Craig Berube, and he didn't hold back.
Berube used to coach Schenn, so he's no stranger to his coaching style. Schenn believes that Berube will bring some much-needed stability behind the Leafs bench, something they've lacked recently. Schenn did compliment Berube a lot.
"He's a great coach. He says it like it is, there's no sugar coating with him. He's what you want in a coach or, for me at least, personally. He's black and white, no grey area; you know where he stands all the time. If you're not playing well, he'll let you know. I think it's good, and it'll be good in that market as well."
Major changes were needed in Toronto, as the team has only won one playoff round in the last eight seasons. With the "Core 4" in their primes, the time is now to win in Leafs Nation. The question as to whether Berube can help the team reach new heights remains to be seen, but clearly whatever they had going for them in the past wasn't working.
Schenn believes Berube is the right man for the job, and Leafs fans sure hope the former Leaf is right.
