Brock Boeser is set to get paid in a big way this season as one of the top available free agent wingers, and it appears the Tampa Bay Lightning are very interested as they look to reload for another shot at the Stanley Cup.
Free agency in the NHL this season may not have some of the biggest names available, but given the amount of teams that are looking to load up for a Stanley Cup Playoffs run, there's more than enough talent available.
Unsurprisingly, former Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser is one of the most talented players available, and while some expected him to return to Vancouver, given the lack of high end wingers in free agency, he's set to cash in on a big time deal.
We've seen the 28-year old linked to several teams, but according to a report from David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Tampa Bay Lightning may be a team to watch in the Boeser sweepstakes.
Over the last two seasons, Boeser has tallied 65 goals and 123 points with Vancouver, and with the team having clear holes on their second line at both centre and wing, Boeser makes perfect sense.
Even at this past trade deadline, there were connections between Boeser and the Lightning, and with the team trying to keep pace with the Florida Panthers in the Atlantic Division, he's the perfect target for this team.
Ultimately, any team that ends up missing out on
Mitch Marner would be an ideal landing spot for Boeser, and given that Tampa Bay don't have the resources to land the former Maple Leafs star, expect them to put in potentially the highest bid for Boeser this summer when free agency begins.
