The Seattle Kraken are yet to hire a new Head Coach in the off-season, and now we know that they've missed out on both Rick Tocchet and Mitch Love as they are left scrambling to find their newest bench boss.

This off-season, we've already seen new Head Coaches hired in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Vancouver and Anaheim, and with the Pittsburgh Penguins closing in on Mitch Love as their newest Head Coach, it presents a major problem for the Seattle Kraken.
According to a report from Anthony Di Marco, the Kraken had their sights set on former division rival Rick Tocchet, and after he was hired in Philadelphia, they pivoted to Washington Capitals assistant Mitch Love, having their hearts set on both.
However, Love is now likely headed to Pittsburgh as their newest Head Coach, and that now leaves Seattle just weeks away from the 2025 NHL Draft without a Head Coach to help lead the organization forward after moving on from Dan Bylsma in the off-season.
In Di Marco's report, he reveals that one key thing holding the Kraken back from finding a new coach is the situation with Jessica Campbell, as many believe that a condition of hiring a new coach will be to retain Campbell on their staff moving forward.
It's unclear if the latter is true at this point, but it's easy to see that the Kraken have come up short not once but twice in their search for a new Head Coach, and with Tocchet and Love taking new jobs (assuming Love to Pittsburgh becomes official), the list of candidates will grow slimmer and slimmer for the Kraken as they look for their third coach in franchise history.
