Aaron Dell began his NHL career back in 2016/17 in San Jose, and after 130 games in the NHL and many more in the AHL, he's officially hung up the skates.

The NHL is full of plenty of success stories, and Aaron Dell is seemingly one of those, as the formerly un-drafted goaltender would manage to find his way into 130 NHL games.
In those games played for San Jose, Buffalo and New Jersey, he managed to post a 2.92 GAA and a .905 save percentage, but with his indiscretions on the ice, he couldn't escape the AHL, last playing an NHL game back in 2022/23.

Dell's NHL Journey with Sharks, Devils and Sabres Comes to an End

Now, the Alberta native has officially announced his retirement on social media, putting an end to a professional career that dates back to 2012/13, with over 300 professional games under his belt.
After 13 seasons of professional hockey the time has come for me to hang up the skates and leave my playing days behind me. I wanted to thank all of the people that believed in me and supported me throughout my career. Lots of ups and downs. An undrafted 6 foot tall goalie that was given a chance by the San Jose Sharks organization. When I look at some of the names I had the privilege of working with like Nabokov, Thornton, Pavelski, Marleau, Couture, Karlsson, Burns and so many great players that I will always consider friends, I feel very fortunate. I want to thank all the on and off ice staff as well as my teammates that I've worked with throughout the past 13 years. I also want to thank the fans but I mostly want to thank my wife Nicolette who stood by me during this wild roller coaster ride traveling all over the country so that I could continue to live my dream. I hope I've made an impact with some of the young players I've played with still chasing their dreams. Without the belief and support from my family, I wouldn't be here. I'm not sure what the future holds for me now but my number one priority will be being a father and a husband. Onto the next chapter.

Undrafted Goalie Leaves Behind Solid Career - and a Notable Suspension for Hit on Drake Batherson

While Dell had a solid career, perhaps the most memorable thing he ever did was get suspended three games for a hit on Drake Batherson, one that potentially changed the course of the goaltenders career.
Ultimately though, he carved out a solid role for himself in the NHL and the AHL, and now, we'll see if he can find a solid role once again in hockey post-retirement.
