'Ultimately I Decided': Jim Montgomery Reveals Why He's Scratching Jordan Kyrou

Despite plenty of success a season ago, the St. Louis Blues have been one of the worst teams in the NHL this year, posting a 4-8-2 record on the season as they've fallen to 31st in the overall standings.

Their next game comes on Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres, and in a shock move, the team are scratching star forward Jordan Kyrou, and according to Blues fans, this has become something of the norm in recent times.

Now, Jim Montgomery has opened up on his decision, stating that many players could have been scratched for this game, but ultimately, he decided to go with Kyrou to miss out in this one with the team desperately needing a victory on the road in Buffalo.

Simply put, no one in St. Louis has been producing consistently this season, and while Kyrou carries a -8 differential, he also has 4 goals and 8 points on the year, tying him for second on the team in points behind only Pius Suter with nine.

Ultimately, this is another situation where Kyrou has been treated poorly by St. Louis, and while his trade value isn't high and the team aren't likely to move him, there's plenty of reason for him to feel as though he isn't being treated fairly at this point in time.
