Torey Krug has been a warrior in the NHL, but eventually, injuries caught up to him, and now it appears as though his time in the league may be over.

Coming into the NHL back in 2011/12 as an un-drafted college free agent with the Boston Bruins, not many people thought much of Torey Krug, but he would go on to have a fantastic career in the NHL.
With Boston and St. Louis, Krug has played in 14 seasons (11 full seasons), tallying a very impressive 89 goals and 483 points over 778 games played, becoming a consistent force on the blue line for both teams during that stretch.
Unfortunately, Krug would miss the entire 2024/25 campaign due to an ankle injury, and on Tuesday, Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong revealed devastating news, noting that Krug is likely to never play in the NHL again.
This is a brutal blow for the 34-year old who has been an absolute warrior throughout his time in the league, and while it all seemingly ended rather quietly with a missed season, hopefully he gets the respect he warrants from his peers and the fans after 14 great seasons.
As of right now, this isn't official, rather just Doug Armstrong speculating based on what he knows of the medical issues surrounding Krug, and if this is the end of his on-ice career, don't be surprised if we see him take on a coaching role in hockey somewhere as the Michigan native can bring a wealth of experience to the bench.
Ultimately though, this is a tough end to a fantastic career, and we wish Krug all the best in whatever he decides to do beyond his NHL career if this is officially the end.
