Jaromir Jagr is one of the best players in the history of the NHL. Despite retiring from the NHL several years ago he has continued his hockey career and at 52 years old is playing in the Czech Extraliga. Today Jaromir Jagr got exciting news that a recent documentary he filmed won a major award.
During the 2023-24 season, Jaromir Jagr was honored by the Pittsburgh Penguins as the team retired his jersey number. During the season Jaromir Jagr had a camera crew following him through the process of having his number retired for a documentary called Celebrate 68: Jagr Retirement Ceremony.
With the Emmy Awards recently being held it was announced that Jaromir Jagr and his film were selected to win an Emmy. The film led to many people from the production to receive recognition as a result of winning the award including Producer; Sydney Bauer, Producer; Giuseppe Esposito, Motion Graphics; Paul Steigerwald, Writer; Michael Davenport, Production Supervisor; Bill Wareham, Director; Rod Murray, Producer/Writer; Leo McCafferty.
With the addition of this Emmy Award Jaromir Jagr still is not satisfied to rest. He has begun yet another year in professional hockey playing for Rytiri Kladno in the Czech Extraliga. It has been announced though that this season is expected to be his last.
Earlier this month it was announced by Jaromir Jagr's agent that this season in the Czech Extraliga would be his final one.
Despite being 52 years old, Jaromir Jagr has proven to be an effective player in Czechia. In 3 games he has 2 total points but has been one of the better players on the Rytiri Kladno team. As the season continues it will be fun to see how many games Jaromir Jagr can play and how many points he can rack up before the end of his career.
