Montreal Canadiens VP Jeff Gorton confirmed that the team's GM, Kent Hughes, is not done making trades despite acquiring Noah Dobson and Zachary Bolduc.

Montreal Canadiens Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Jeff Gorton has suggested that the club may be close to making another trade.
Speaking with Marc Antoine Godin of Radio-Canada in a recent interview, Gorton confirmed that management is busy working the phones and anticipates a flurry of NHL activity prior to the opening of training camps.
"Everyone is still looking to make moves. I expect trades before the end of the offseason."

Though he fell short of announcing a deal is on the horizon, Gorton indicated the Canadiens are investigating their possibilities and left the door wide open for a move in the not-too-distant future.

Jordan Kyrou rumors to Montreal are really picking up steam

This fits with mounting speculation surrounding the team. Perhaps most notably, the name Jordan Kyrou has been increasingly associated with Montreal in recent days.
The rumor mill talk about him is very similar to what was being whispered about Noah Dobson right before he was dealt, causing raised eyebrows and contributing to further speculation.
The other significant consideration is the Canadiens' rumored wish to clear cap space.
That makes large contracts such as Carey Price's and Patrik Laine's front and center as candidates to be traded if Montreal is looking for roster reshuffling or future flexibility.
While nothing is certain, Gorton's words indicate the cupboard is being prepared for a move.
As the offseason continues to warm up and training camps approach, this is a narrative thread Canadiens fans, and the entire NHL, would do well to monitor closely.
