Arber Xhekaj sat in the penalty box in Montreal and still found a way to watch his brother Florian drop the gloves 500 km away in Toronto.

Arber Xhekaj sat in the penalty box at the Bell Centre and still found a way to watch his younger brother fight in another city entirely, and honestly, that might be the most Xhekaj thing to ever happen.
The Canadiens opened their preseason on Saturday with a split squad format, sending one group to Montreal and another to Toronto for simultaneous games against the Maple Leafs.
Arber suited up at home. Florian, the younger of the two brothers, played in Toronto, and midway through the second period he dropped the gloves with Leafs defenseman Marshall Rifai.
Florian got the better of him, and word travels fast in hockey circles, even across provinces.

How the clip reached him mid game

While Arber was serving his own penalty in Montreal, someone nearby pulled out a phone with the fight already loaded up and Arber grabbed it.
Cameras caught Arber leaning down in full gear, locked in on the phone screen, grinning through the penalty box glass while his brother worked in real time on the other side of the province.

A big night for both squads

Florian finished with an assist, a blocked shot and four hits in barely twelve minutes of ice time, on top of the fight.
Montreal won both games, taking the Bell Centre matchup in overtime on a late Cole Caufield goal and the Toronto game behind a strong showing from the group up the highway.
After the game, Arber admitted he watched the whole clip and texted his brother the second it ended.
For two guys chasing NHL roster spots on opposite ends of the same organization, it was a reminder that family still comes first, even when the schedule puts them in different buildings.

Do you think Arber should have gotten fined for the phone?
