Mats Zuccarello underwent urgent surgery following his injury in last night's game
The Minnesota Wild have provided an important update to hockey fans today that Mats Zuccarello has undergone emergency surgery following his injury yesterday.
The Minnesota Wild had a successful night on Thursday, defeating the visiting Montreal Canadiens 3-0 in a shutout. However, there were also unfavorable reports that were eventually made public on Friday.
Mats Zuccarello, a veteran forward with the Wild, will be sidelined for three to four weeks following surgery for a lower body issue.
After teammate Brock Faber's slap shot struck Zuccarello during the first period of Friday night's game, the treatment was necessary.
Although Zuccarello's lower midsection appeared to be hit by the bullet, no information on the procedure has been made public.
John Hynes, the Wild's head coach, regrettably disclosed that additional teammates of Zuccarello are also out.
Joel Eriksson Ek is categorized as day-to-day after also missing the game due to a lower-body injury.
Additionally listed as day-to-day is defenseman Jonas Brodin, who did not appear in the lineup for Thursday's game.
