Ken Holland was moved on by the Edmonton Oilers last summer, and now it appears that a division rival is set to hire him as their new General Manager.

The 2024/25 campaign was a promising one for the Los Angeles Kings, but after matching up with the Edmonton Oilers once again in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they were thoroughly dominated as they were eliminated by their rivals for the fourth straight season.
Now, it appears that they may be turning to the former GM of their Pacific Division rivals, as reports from Elliotte Friedman have confirmed that at this point in time, Ken Holland is the front runner to land the role as General Manager.
This isn't one that's gone down well with some Kings fans, as many look at the end of his tenure in Edmonton and see an older GM that hasn't had success in the league in a long, long time, with Arthur Staple of the Athletic confirming the connection and revealing that Holland met with President Luc Robitaille recently.
After moving on from Rob Blake, the thought from many Kings fans was that the organization would look to get younger and bring in a new perspective to the construction of their roster, but instead, they're now set to bring in the ageing Holland who struggled to make significant additions to a roster that had Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl late in his Oilers tenure.
If this move is made official, it's likely to be a short-term deal for Holland, and with the Kings having a solid roster already, a few big splashes could be the difference for this team moving forward, so if Holland is brought in, expect some big changes right away.
