Brad Marchand Caught Trolling the Maple Leafs in Post-Game Comments
Florida Panthers' forward Brad Marchand was caught trolling the Toronto Maple Leafs in his post-game comments last night.
Since joining
the Florida Panthers, Brad Marchand has been bringing the same energy that we saw for so many years in Boston.
Last night, in the third game against
the Toronto Maple Leafs, he played an important role in the win, notably scoring the overtime goal.
If you missed it, check it out:
After the game, Marchand trolled the Leafs, saying they had the "killer instinct" that's been lacking in Toronto for years:
"I feel good but it's all about doing it in the next game. They're going to come out hard. You saw the way that they played and prepared for the game. They have their 'killer instinct' right now. So we have to do a better job of preparing to start the game and carry it through."
Here, it seems Marchand could be trying to inflate the Leafs' confidence going into the next game. After all, the former Bruins captain faced the Leafs 31 times in the playoffs over his career, and he could be in a great position to know which buttons to push.
Later, Marchand discussed his goal, his team's mindset, and the next game of the series:
"It obviously felt good for the group. We had a good game -- a better second half of the game because we didn't start the way we would have liked. I love their resiliency. We battled back from a couple two-goal deficits and we just competed the way we know we can. But it's all about doing it the next game. We know they're going to come out hard."
Marchand, who will celebrate his 37th birthday tomorrow, can still play an important part in his team's success with his skills, leadership, and unique style.
