Jeremy Swayman Reportedly Involved in Failed Trade Between the Boston Bruins and Canadian Team
This past season, the Edmonton Oilers fell just short in the Stanley Cup Finals once again, and one reason that many have pinpointed for their shortcomings once more has been the goaltending.
That's led many fans to beg the team to move on from
Stuart Skinner or make some kind of change this summer, and thus far, they haven't done it, despite reportedly checking in on
John Gibson before he was ultimately dealt to the Detroit Red Wings.
That report comes from The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, who also details how the team looked to acquire Jeremy Swayman back in November of this past season, but ultimately, they were given a firm no from the Boston Bruins.
As for the Oilers, it was another possible upgrade that turned them down, coming back to bite them after Skinner's struggles in net in the biggest series of the year, but with a loaded forward group, if they have to go with Skinner/Pickard again in 2025/26, the belief is that they can take them to the Stanley Cup.
If Boston struggle again next season however, don't be shocked to see Edmonton come calling Don Sweeney again, and while there's always the likelihood that he turns down their offers again, there's always a chance.
