The Edmonton Oilers' forward Evander Kane got fined by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

In Saturday night's game against the Calgary Flames, he slashed Flames' Dryden Hunt on the hands and received a minor penalty.
"With evander kane in the box for this slash, yegor sharangovich makes it a one goal game."
The NHL's Department of Player Safety later announced on X that Kane has been fined $5,000 for slashing Dryden Hunt during the game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.
"Edmonton's Evander Kane has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for slashing Calgary's Dryden Hunt."
It was a rough night for Kane, who also attracted attention for his on-bench altercation with Corey Perry.
Discipline can play a huge role in a team' success, especially in the playoffs. Almost all teams have very strong powerplay units, and can capitalize on almost any opportunities.
Oilers' fans and team management surely hope that Evander Kane does better in the next games.
