Red Wings GM Shawn Horcoff says he has zero interest in trading unsigned RFA Simon Edvinsson more than two weeks into the season.
Shawn Horcoff is shutting the door on Simon Edvinsson trade chatter.
The Detroit Red Wings interim general manager said Wednesday that moving the young defenseman is simply not something he is entertaining.
Edvinsson is still an unsigned restricted free agent more than two weeks into the season, and Horcoff says the goal has not changed.
He wants a deal done, he stays in regular contact with the player's camp, and he remains open-minded on contract options.

Why the trade noise keeps growing
The rumors did not come out of nowhere.
Pierre LeBrun reported last week that at least 10 teams have checked in on Edvinsson, and the Boston Bruins are one of them.
He also noted a sizeable gap in salary is holding up talks.
Earlier this month, Elliotte Friedman reported the 23-year-old would prefer a trade, though neither side would confirm it.
Edvinsson skated at training camp but could not scrimmage or play in preseason games without a contract.
He then went back to Sweden and trained with Frolunda.
Chris Johnston reported Tuesday that he has returned to North America to keep working.
What Detroit stands to lose
The Red Wings drafted him sixth overall in 2021, and he has 19 goals and 60 points in 175 career games.
Last season, his second full year in the NHL, he put up nine goals and 25 points in 72 games.
That is exactly why other teams keep calling.
Detroit is also still working through the Dylan Larkin trade request, and the captaincy was taken from him in camp.
Losing Edvinsson on top of all that would make for a brutal start to the year.
For now, the message from Horcoff is simple.
The Red Wings want him signed, and the clock keeps ticking.
