Alex DeBrincat is known as one of the most skilled players in the NHL, and very rarely drops the gloves, so Saturday's matchup against the Vancouver Canucks was certainly a sight to see.
Alex DeBrincat and Ian Cole face off in a one-sided contest
The Red Wings clash with the Vancouver Canucks was a surprisingly fiery one, and it became even more fiery when Alex DeBrincat made the decision to drop the gloves with known tough guy, Ian Cole.
That's 5'7 165 lbs Alex Debrincat vs 6'1 225 lbs Ian Cole. #LGRW #Canucks
While he fought valiantly, DeBrincat just couldn't overcome the size difference, as Cole dispatched with the superstar forward in quick order. However, the fight took place with the Red Wings down 3-1, and they would ultimately go on to win the game 4-3 in Overtime, so it's safe to say that whether or not it was DeBrincat to inspire this team, he made some impact.
The front office may not feel the same way though, as they pay him to score goals and drive offense for this talented team, so while it's great to see the fight in a star forward, they will certainly hope this is the last time they see him drop the gloves this season.
As Read on Blade of Steel - Alex DeBrincat finally bites off more than he can chew, going after a bigger player
