Dallas Stars forward Harrison Scott is on waivers, and any NHL team can now claim the 26-year-old undrafted AHL scorer who has yet to play an NHL game.
The Dallas Stars have placed forward Harrison Scott on waivers, which means any of the other 31 NHL teams can put in a claim for him. Here is the original post on X.
Scott has never played an NHL game, so a claim would hand him his first real shot at the league.
He is 26, a San Jose, California native, and signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent on March 31, 2025.
What Scott has done so far
Scott spent his last two college seasons at the University of Maine, where he served as an alternate captain.
He finished his senior year with 35 points in 38 games, a career best, and the Black Bears went on to win the Hockey East tournament title.
Before that he played two seasons at Bentley University.
Last season was his first full year as a pro with the Texas Stars of the AHL.
He played 72 games, scored 18 goals, added 14 assists and chipped in two game-winning goals.
Contract details and what comes next
Dallas signed Scott to a two-year, two-way extension in June that runs through the 2027-28 season.
It carries an $875,000 cap hit in the NHL and a $100,000 AHL salary this year, per PuckPedia.
This is also the first season he is eligible for waivers, and Pro Hockey Rumors noted in June that he was not expected to push for a Dallas roster spot this fall.
Any team that claims him would take on that cheap deal and add some depth up front.
If nobody does, he would normally clear and head back to Texas.
