Two weeks ago it was announced that Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Jordan Dumais had been arrested in connection to a DUI in Canada. Jordan Dumais who has been a standout in the QMJHL now has a legal battle on his hands due to this arrest.
Today it was announced that the next step in his legal process will be arraignment on April 9th in a Nova Scotia court.
Beyond his arrest, Jordan Dumais had been having a great season in the QMJHL. Despite a major hip injury to begin the season to begin the season he still made the best of his year in juniors. In 21 games played Jordan Dumais totaled 47 points.
On top of being charged with the DUI from the Nova Scotia legal system Jordan Dumais was also punished by the QMJHL. Earlier this month it was announced that Jordan Dumais would serve a five-game suspension due to his conduct off the ice.
As of now, the Columbus Blue Jackets have not commented on whether or not Jordan Dumais' conduct will impact his NHL future. Before this incident, he was considered one of the steals of his draft and looked to have an incredibly bright future in professional hockey.
