After weeks of speculation, the Columbus Blue Jackets have now officially revealed their newest Head Coach.
The Columbus Blue Jackets hired and fired Pascal Vincent all in the same year after another disappointing season, and now his replacement has officially been announced as former Minnesota Wild boss Dean Evason.
GOT OUR GUY 🤩
We've named Dean Evason as our new head coach!
We're thrilled to welcome Dean and his wife Jen to the #CBJ family!
Despite four straight playoff years in Minnesota, the Wild fired Evason after a 5-10-4 start to the 2023/24 season, but after what he did for the team, he has proven that he can be a solid Head Coach. With the addition of Sean Monahan and the expected arrival of several young stars, the Blue Jackets have a talented roster heading into 2024/25, and with Evason's experience of bringing out the best in rising stars, this could be a great match.
Only time will tell if he lasts longer than Vincent's one year stint, but with a multi-year contract, it appears they believe he will be the coach to lead them out of this lengthy rebuild phase.
