Olofsson played this year with the Vegas Golden Knights and had 29 points (15G, 14A) in 56 games. He was plagued by inconsistency, which likely was part of the reason it took so long for him to find a new NHL home.
His durability has also been brought into question, as he's played in 75 games in a season only one time so far in his NHL career because of various injury concerns.
Victor Olofsson Stays in the Central Division, Leaving Golden Knights for Avalanche
Olofsson will see plenty of the Golden Knights with his new team, as they are both in the Central Division; they'll face one another 4 times in 2025-26.
Olofsson was taken with the 181st overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft after playing for Frolunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League.
He made his NHL debut in March of 2019 and had an assist against the Detroit Red Wings. He went on to play 5 full years with the Sabres before signing a 1 year contract last summer with the Golden Knights, earning an AAV (average annual value) of 1,075,000.
Olofsson has 2011 points (105G, 106A) in 370 NHL games with the Sabres and Golden Knights.
