The Chicago Blackhawks made a trade earlier this week acquiring higher draft picks and insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed that Kyle Davidson wants to move up again in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Earlier this week the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders brokered a trade involving five draft picks that saw the Blackhawks move up in the first and second rounds.

TRADE

To Chicago #Blackhawks
2024 1st RD pick (#18 - NYI)
2024 2nd RD pick (#50 - NYI)

To New York #Isles
2024 1st RD pick (#20 - TBL)
2024 2nd RD pick (#54 - LAK)
2024 2nd RD pick (#61 - VAN)

Today on the 32 Thoughts podcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman shared that the Blackhawks are looking to move up again in the 2024 NHL draft.

32 Thoughts Podcast: On the Chicago/Islanders pick swap trade from last week Elliotte thinks it's a precursor to another trade. Either someone moving up higher in the draft or to add to a package for a different trade.

Chicago currently has the 2nd overall pick in the NHL draft and is unlikely to trade it but they also have the 18th, 34th, and 50th pick which they could package for a potential pick inside the top ten.

Surely GM Kyle Davidson will be busy this upcoming offseason and he will look to make big things happen for the Blackhawks as they build around 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard.
