Recently the Chicago Blackhawks held a ceremony to celebrate the career of Chris Chelios and retire his jersey number.
Several former Blackhawks from throughout the team's history were in attendance. However, one notable player from the Blackhawks' most recent Stanley Cup runs was not in attendance causing concern.
Toews Missing From Blackhawks Ceremony
In the lead-up to Chris Chelios having his jersey retired another important event was taking place. Patrick Kane had his return to the United Center. Upon his return, several teammates greeted him including Brent Seabrook, Duncan Keith, Patrick Sharp, and Marian Hossa. Missing, however, was captain Jonathan Toews.

While there have been no reports as to why Toews is missing many have assumed it has to do with the health issues that led to his sudden retirement. The Blackhawks will likely have more celebrations in the near future for the teams that Toews was on it will be interesting to see if he is in attendance for those.
