Top Free Agent Jack Roslovic May Return to His Former Team, Per Insider

With most of the interesting free agents signing with their former teams before July 1st, and not many moves happening on that front after that date, some players remain available.

Nearly two months after free agency opened, Jack Roslovic is still without a contract, which is surprising given both his production and experience.

At 28 years old, the versatile right-handed forward is arguably the biggest name still available on the market.

Now, the Carolina Hurricanes are emerging as a serious option.

Roslovic spent last season in Raleigh, where he scored 22 goals and 39 points. He has scored at least 30 points in each of the last five seasons, proving he can bring consistent secondary scoring.

The Hurricanes could be interested in bringing Roslovic back as he could add some valuable offensive depth to the team.

Other teams like the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs are also rumored to be in the mix, but the Hurricanes could have an advantage, as the player is already familiar with the team's system, the town, and the players.

Drafted 25th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 2015, Roslovic took part in 526 career NHL games with the Jets, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, and Hurricanes.

Over that span, he has collected 260 points while appearing in 45 playoff games, where he added another 17 points.

With training camps just around the corner, a decision on Roslovic's future should come soon.

Whether he signs in Carolina or with another team looking for middle-six depth, it'll be interesting to see how the 28-year-old fares in his ninth NHL season, especially after he tied his career-best tally of 22 goals in a year.

With reports confirming he received a few offers in the summer but chose to wait, it wouldn't be surprising to see him wait until we get even closer to the start of training camp before inking a deal.
