Evgeny Kuznetsov gets scratched after undisciplined penalty
The Carolina Hurricanes have made one significant roster change tonight as they face the New York Rangers for game two of the second round. Forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has been replaced by Max Comtois after he took a bad penalty last game.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed moments ago that Comtois would slot into the lineup, replacing Kuznetsov today.
Max Comtois taking warmups for the Hurricanes, no Evgeny Kuznetsov.
The decision comes after Kuznetsov took a bad penalty in the first period of game one, cross-checking Adam Fox unnecessarily. The Rangers would score on the ensuing powerplay. putting the Canes in a deep deficit that they would not be able to overcome.
