For most, the off-season is a time for relaxation, but now Rasmus Dahlin has shared the traumatic experience he and his fiancee went through.

The NHL off-season has come and gone, and for most players, it was likely a relaxing time used to recover and get their bodies back to 100% ahead of another gruelling campaign in 2025/26.
For Rasmus Dahlin however, it was almost tragic, as he has now penned a letter to Buffalo Sabres fans that detail a traumatic experience suffered by he and his fiancee Carolina.

Dahlin and his fiancee go through a heartbreaking experience

According to Dahlin in a letter written for Sabres fans, Dahlin outlines a tragic event involving his fiancee, where she almost lost her life due to heart failure, but thankfully, it appears she's on the mend and may be healthy again soon.
In his letter, Dahlin thanks Terry Pegula, Kevyn Adams, Lindy Ruff and so many in the Sabres organization for their support during this time, as it helped them get through it together.
According to the superstar captain, his partner is recovering, but is unable to return to Buffalo at this time, but hopefully with time, she will be able to get back to her partner and resume life as normal moving forward.
Importantly, Dahlin shared this experience for several reasons, encouraging fans to cherish the ones they love, as well as stressing the importance of CPR training and awareness, as it may save someone's life one day.
We share all this with you in hopes that we can all appreciate our experiences, the people closest to us, and the importance of fully living each day.

We want to spotlight the importance of CPR treatment, CPR training, organ donation, and heart-related issues that impact so many people and families around the world. We want to recognize the tireless and oftentimes thankless efforts of emergency and healthcare professionals everywhere. We cannot say thank you enough to all organ donors, and are appreciative beyond words for the new life that organ donation has provided to Carolina.

We hope that we can all reflect on how fortunate we are to have the people and experiences that we share together every single day.

Thankfully, it appears Carolina will be okay moving forward, but this must have been an incredibly scary incident, that hopefully both can completely recover from in the coming weeks, months and years.
