Lou Lamoriello was fired by the New York Islanders early in the off-season, but now, it appears he's already set to take a new role with the Buffalo Sabres.

The NHL off-season is moving quickly despite the Stanley Cup Playoffs continuing along, and after several Head Coaches have been hired, it appears the front offices around the league are about to see some changes.
As of right now, it's only a matter of time until Ken Holland takes over the General Manager role in Los Angeles, and now, it appears as though another veteran is headed for a new role.
Just weeks after being fired by the New York Islanders, Lou Lamoriello has been connected to a few roles around the league, and after speculation he could be set to join the Buffalo Sabres, he has been spotted in Buffalo.
Reporter Nick Alberga follows this photo up with a report that those in Buffalo are interested in bringing in the veteran voice, but with Kevyn Adams still in the General Manager role, it's more likely to be in the role of a Senior Advisor.
While the Sabres have been struggling for a long time, with a veteran addition to the front office being sorely needed, Lamoriello is certainly an intriguing option for the team, as he has struggled in many of his previous roles as General Manager, so it's not quite clear what he can bring to the role that others can't.
Ultimately, the belief around the NHL was that Lamoriello wouldn't be out of a job for very long, and while it's not yet confirmed that the Sabres will go ahead with the hire, it's certainly a very intriguing story to keep a close eye on moving forward.
