Don Sweeney shares whether Brad Marchand will ever get traded
The Boston Bruins conducted their exit interviews today and GM Don Sweeney shared his intention for Brad Marchand down the road.
Brad Marchand is one of the most iconic Boston Bruins of all time. He helped them to the 2011 Stanley Cup and has since played in hundreds of games for the franchise. After the retirement of Patrice Bergeron, Marchand stepped into his role and led the Bruins on and off the ice.
Today during the Bruins' exit interviews Don Sweeney shared that he intends on keeping Marchand around for the rest of his NHL career.
Sweeney on #NHLBruins Brad Marchand:
«He will be a lifelong Bruin.»
Entering the final year of his contract, Marchand will at least play in the 2024-25 season but he may choose to retire after next season. At 36 years old, he is still quite a productive NHLer and will look to continue to help the Bruins make the playoffs and hopefully win the Stanley Cup again.
The Bruins will be able to resign Marchand if they choose to this offseason and he may very well wind up doing so if he is keen on playing for more years.
