In Boston, if you miss a team meeting, you're in trouble. This is a lesson many players, including Jake DeBrusk, have learned the hard way. DeBrusk once got benched for a whole game because he was late to a meeting.

And just recently, Derek Forbort found himself in a similar situation. He missed a team meeting and was left out of the lineup for two games: first against the Kraken and then against the Golden Knights, last night.

"#Bruins defensman Derek Forbort overslept in Seattle. "It's on me," he said. His first call was from Jake DeBrusk (who missed a meeting earlier this season in LA) with the message "you'll get through this," Forbort said with a smile following Thursday's morning skate."

"Derek Forbort will not play. Missed a team meeting."

Forbort, who'll be UFA at the end of the season, already had a foot out of the door before that whole incident. This could very well what pushes him out for good.

"Given his recent play and now this, I wouldn't be surprised to see Forbort on a new team by the March 8, 3 p.m. ET NHL Trade Deadline."

With only a week before the deadline, we'll follow the situation in Boston closely to bring you the latest developments. Stay tuned.
